What Brings You Life?

Okay girls, we have almost made it through winter, depending on where you live in the country. Today, there was a promise of Spring in the air but what do you do when covid isolation and other strangers seem to linger? For me, I start to ask myself some basic coaching questions:


Hmmmm.....Where am I right now, where do I want to be, what are the obstacles and what action step can I take?


But sometimes we don't even know what we want to change, that is when I take a few index cards and do something a bit creative.


There is an old spiritual practice that has been around for centuries called "Consolation and Desolation". I take 5 index cards and ask myself, what is life giving and energizing to me. then I take 5 more cards and ask myself what seems to drain life from me?


I surprise myself at how eye opening this simple exercise is---Yes, I need to go to the nursery and browse and plan my spring garden---- then I feel alive or I have to eliminate that phone call to that person who always leads me down a wrong conversational path and I feel drained. You get the idea. So get out that colored marker and set of cards, NOW!
